How to read this

Look at how tight it is. The gap between the most and least competitive college is 1.36 points. On the 50/40/10 formula one MDCAT mark is worth about 0.28 points of aggregate, so the whole province is separated by roughly five MDCAT marks.

Merit fell at every college last year, by up to 1.19 points. That is the size of move to allow for this year, in either direction. The calculator above groups colleges on exactly that basis: above last year’s line, within 1.19 points of it, or further off.

Below 60% in FSc, or below 55% in the MDCAT, you are not eligible for MBBS at all, whatever your aggregate. The calculator checks both. Not sure what score you need? Switch it to “Score I need”, or use the MDCAT aggregate calculator page.

Frequently asked questions

What does "closing merit" mean?
The aggregate of the last student admitted to a college on open merit, once every selection list for that year has run. It is the lowest aggregate that got a seat there. It is not the figure from the first merit list, which closes higher because students later move up to colleges they preferred and free their seats.
What was KEMU's closing merit in 2025-26?
94.8677%, the highest in Punjab. The year before it was 96.0576%. If you have seen KEMU quoted at 96.06, that is the 2024-25 figure.
What aggregate do I need for a Punjab public medical college?
In 2025-26 the lowest closing merit was Narowal at 93.5091%, so that was the entry point for any Punjab public MBBS seat on open merit. The whole spread, from 93.51 to 94.87, is under a point and a half, which is why a hundredth of a percent can move you several colleges.
Did merit go up or down last year?
Down, at all 17 colleges, by between 0.73 and 1.19 points. Some sites say it rose; the UHS final lists show otherwise. Fewer candidates sat the MDCAT in 2025 than in 2024, which is the likeliest reason. Do not assume it keeps falling.
Will I get in with the same aggregate this year?
Nobody can tell you that until this year's lists are out. If your aggregate is above a college's closing merit by more than 1.19 points, the size of last year's biggest move, you are in a strong position for it. Inside that distance it genuinely depends on this year.
Do these figures apply to quota seats?
No. They are open-merit seats only. UDD, overseas, disability, Cholistan and reciprocal seats have their own lists and close at different aggregates.
What about KPK, Sindh and other provinces?
This page is Punjab only for now: 17 public colleges admitted through UHS. Each province runs its own admissions, so a Punjab closing merit tells you nothing about a KMU or DUHS seat.
